The mission of the College of Health, Human Services, and Nursing (CHHSN) is to prepare knowledgeable, competent, and effective professionals, committed to improving lifelong health and wellness, development and overall adaptability in a diverse and evolving society. We emphasize excellence in teaching, scholarship and practice. 

Dean's Welcome

Welcome to the College of Health, Human Service and Nursing (CHHSN) at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH). Our College has been training health professionals for over 50 years through career-focused undergraduate and graduate degree programs. We are proud to offer 11 distinct allied health and nursing departments and a school that provides 6 undergraduate, 6 Masters, and one professional doctorate degree.

Our undergraduate programs include Child Development, Clinical Sciences, Public Health and Health Sciences, Human Services, Kinesiology, and Nursing (BSN). We also offer professional graduate degrees in Marital and Family Therapy (MFT), Social Work (MSW), Occupational Therapy (Master and Doctorate OT), Nursing (MSN), Orthotics and Prosthetics (O&P), and Radiologic Imaging Sciences (RIS). Additionally, we provide postbaccalaureate certificates in Cytotechnology and Medical Technology, and a Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) certificate as a bridge program to Speech Pathology graduate degrees.

We are dedicated to increasing the diversity of our student population and encouraging high schoolers and community college transfers to pursue health professions. Our 'Toro Health Pathways to Success' program offers various pathways to careers in Human Services, Nursing, Medical Technology, Radiologic Imaging, and many more. We also provide teacher-credential pathways for single-subject, multiple-subject, and PK-3 credentials.

At CHHSN, we collaborate with our community partners to improve health and wellness and address critical problems in the field. Our degree programs, faculty, and staff, represent the diverse realities of the global marketplace, and over 80% of our students come from diverse backgrounds, including 47% first-generation college students. Moreover, 32% of our undergraduate students continue their education in postgraduate health professions programs.
